These are the terms you agree to by using Glow. They are short and written plainly on purpose. Glow is made by Mina Khan, an independent developer in Columbia, Maryland, USA. "We" below means her; "you" means you.
Glow is a private diary for your skin. You record the products in your routine, tick off the days you keep it, write notes, take progress photos, and log the aesthetic treatments you have had or plan to have. An AI writes a plain description of what is visible in a photo — in this version, once, during setup — answers questions about your own journal, and puts together short reading material. If you want, you can let a provider you trust see chosen parts of it.
That is the whole of it. Glow is a record-keeping app with some writing help attached.
Glow is not medical advice, and it does not diagnose anything. It is not a medical device, it is not a clinical tool, and it is not a substitute for seeing a licensed professional.
When Glow describes a photo, it is describing what a camera picked up. It says things like "visible redness across the cheeks". It will not name a condition, because it cannot know and is not permitted to guess. It will not tell you that you need Botox, filler, a laser or a peel, or any other procedure. It does not produce scores, grades or percentages, because a number would suggest a precision that does not exist.
AI gets things wrong. A description can miss something that is there, or describe something that is only a shadow. Nothing in Glow should be used to decide whether to seek treatment, delay treatment, start or stop a medication, or ignore something that concerns you. If you are worried about your skin, or something changes, see a dermatologist or another licensed healthcare professional. If it is urgent, treat it as urgent.
The educational material in Glow is general. It is not written about you, it has not been reviewed by a doctor, and it is not a recommendation for you specifically.
You sign in either with Sign in with Apple or with your email address and a six-digit code. If you use Apple you may hide your email, and Apple gives us a relay address instead — that works normally. If you use email, keep access to that inbox, because anyone who has it can get into your account. Tell us at info@glowskin.health if you think someone else has got in.
One account is for one person. Do not share it. Everything you enter must be true as far as you know, particularly the medications and treatments, since a provider you share with may read them.
You must be at least 13 to use Glow, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to a service like this on your own — in parts of the UK and the EU that is 14, 15 or 16. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
Use it for yourself, for your own skin. Please do not:
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, you will be told why and given a chance to put it right first.
Glow is $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, after a 3-day free trial. There is no free tier and no ads.
Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple account, as an in-app purchase. We never see or hold your card. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and cancelling at least 24 hours before a period ends stops the next charge.
Cancel in your Apple account settings — Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does cancelling anything inside Glow. Cancel during the free trial and you are not charged at all. Refunds after that are Apple's to give under their policy rather than ours, though you are welcome to email and we will help you ask.
If the price ever changes, anyone already subscribed is told before it applies and can cancel first.
Two things about money are true today and are worth knowing before you start:
What is intended. Glow is meant to be paid for by the people using it rather than by advertising: $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year for a personal account, and $199 a month for a provider, bought through Apple in the ordinary way. None of that is live, none of it binds you, and the prices here are a statement of intent rather than an offer. Before any of it starts, this page will be rewritten to set out the trial, the renewal, the price and how to cancel, and you will be told before it affects you. If a subscription ever does end, your journal is not deleted; it is there if you come back.
Glow for Providers is for practitioners whose clients choose to share a diary with them. A provider plan costs $199 per month, per provider and is cancellable at any time. It is not yet purchasable in the app; until it is, a provider plan is switched on by Glow directly. A provider with an inactive plan can see nothing of any client's, even a connected one.
Who this is for, and who it is not for. Glow is not a HIPAA-covered service and no business associate agreement is offered, so it cannot be the place a covered entity handles protected health information. That rules out physician practices, clinics that bill insurance, and anyone working as part of one. Glow for Providers is for aestheticians, med-spa staff and independent practitioners operating outside a covered practice, reading a client's own diary that the client chose to share with them. If you are not sure which of those describes you, assume the first and do not connect clients until a business associate agreement exists. This is a limit on who may buy it, not a disclaimer to read past.
Whoever you are, you keep your own professional and legal duties, including confidentiality law where you practise. What you read in Glow is a client's self-reported diary, not a medical record, and Glow is not built for medical record-keeping. An account that breaks these rules is closed, and the clients connected to it are told.
You own your photos and your words. They are yours and they stay yours. Nothing here transfers ownership.
So that the app can actually work, you give us a limited licence to store your content, show it back to you, show it to a provider you have chosen to share it with, and send it to OpenAI for the specific processing described in the Privacy Policy. That is the whole extent of it. The licence exists only to run the service for you, it is not exclusive, it cannot be sublicensed for anything else, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
We will not use your photos or notes for marketing, will not publish them, and will not use them to train any AI model.
The app itself, its name, its design and its writing belong to us.
Glow does not promise that your skin will change, improve, or do anything at all. It keeps a record and describes what it sees. Skin responds to things Glow knows nothing about, and no app can promise an outcome. Anything you do with a product, an ingredient or a treatment is your decision, taken with a professional where that is appropriate.
Glow is provided as it is. We try hard to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, always be error-free, or never lose anything. Features can change or be removed. The AI can be unavailable, or slow, and some AI features have a daily limit: the assistant, building a plan, and looking up products Glow has not seen before. The others are not capped.
Glow is an independent app made by one person. We may stop offering it, and if that happens you get reasonable notice, the chance to download everything, and a refund of any unused prepaid time to the extent Apple allows.
Nothing here limits liability for something the law does not allow to be limited, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Beyond that: we are not liable for decisions you make about your skin, your health or a treatment, whether or not Glow was involved. We are not liable for what a provider does with what you shared with them. We are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, the most we will ever be liable for is the greater of what you paid Glow in the twelve months before the problem, or one hundred US dollars.
If you are a consumer, you have rights under the law where you live that these terms cannot take away, and those rights come first.
You can stop using Glow whenever you like. Cancelling your subscription and deleting your account are two separate things: cancel through Apple to stop being charged, and delete your account here if you also want the data gone. To delete your account and everything on it, open Profile → Privacy & data and press "Delete my account and all my data": you type the word delete to confirm, and your photos and their files, your journal, your provider connections and your sign-in are removed while you wait. It cannot be undone. If you own a practice that still has clients connected, the app stops and says so, because only a client can end a connection. You can also email info@glowskin.health and ask instead, and that is honoured within 30 days. We may close an account that breaks these terms or that we are legally required to close.
Glow is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple requires every app with its own terms to carry the points below. They are written here in plain English, but they mean what Apple's version means.
Questions about the App Store itself go to Apple, at support.apple.com. Questions about Glow come to the address at the bottom of this page.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you and we both agree to that. If you are a consumer outside the United States, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts.
The date at the top changes when this page does. For a significant change you get an email at your account address and a note in the app before it takes effect. Using Glow after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, cancel and ask for your data to be deleted.
